Peter is one of the founding members of Sunera LLC. Prior to Sunera, Peter was a Partner with KPMG and led risk-based services for the North Florida region. He has over 25 years of work experience including 16 years with KPMG in locations within the US, Canada, and New Zealand. Peter is a Chartered Accountant (CA), a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), and an ACL Certified Data Analyst.
Peter has led a variety of consulting and audit projects over the years within the fields of Sarbanes-Oxley, IT Advisory, IT Audit Co-sourcing, ERP Stabilization, Application QA, Post and Pre Implementation Assessments, Project Risk Management and Financial Audit. His industry expertise includes financial services, oil & gas, government, manufacturing, retail and distribution. In addition to IT audit in the banking industry, Peter led the IT audits of Investors Group and Raymond James Financial.
Most recently, Peter has focused on training and implementing Continuous Monitoring programs to assist his clients with strengthening their internal controls through automated monitoring routines. Using ACL, he has completed more than 100 continuous monitoring scripts for various clients over the past year. Furthermore, Peter has completed large-scale forensic investigations as well as a large consolidation and financial reporting controls remediation project.
