Kevin Carey is the Director in Sunera's Dallas practice. He has over fifteen years of professional experience providing internal auditing, consulting services, forensic accounting, and control analysis for numerous public companies. Prior to Sunera, he has held the titles of Director of Internal Audit for KPMG’s Dallas Internal Audit, Regulatory and Compliance Services practice, Manager of Internal Audit for one of the nation’s largest media companies and Internal Auditor with PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he began his consulting career. While at KPMG, he worked with companies in a variety of industries performing risk assessments, a variety of consulting services, forensic accounting, and implementation of Sarbanes-Oxley best practices. His experience in both public accounting and industry involved working in healthcare, oil & gas, information technology, communication and entertainment, and retail services.
During his career, Kevin has been responsible and involved in various large scale financial projects including a global Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 documentation, remediation and testing projects, creation and implementation of a standard chart of accounts for a nation media company, as well as various financial process improvement initiatives that involved leading multi-functional and cross departmental teams.
