Sunera is looking for a Director/Partner to add to its growing practice in Calgary.
Duties & Responsibilities
The Director / Partner is in a leadership role and responsible for managing client engagements and relationships for Sunera's diversified risk & advisory practice. The ideal candidate should have at least 8 years experience in providing audit and/or advisory services or have been in a senior management role in industry pertaining to Sunera's service lines, be an excellent communicator and have previously managed client engagements and teams of resources.
The ideal candidate will have the capacity for adapting to dynamic and diverse services desired by our clients. Duties may include:
- Leading/assisting with client engagements, including Internal Audit, Sarbanes-Oxley, Technical Accounting, Risk Management and Information Technology projects
- Project management, including leading and mentoring staff and reviewing deliverables
- Preparing and communicating comprehensive, high quality and timely deliverables that exceed client expectations, including reports and presentations
- Developing relationships and new business opportunities with new and existing clients
- Marketing and representing the Sunera brand in the Calgary marketplace
- Preparing client proposals
- Conducting presentations to various industry groups and professional associations
- Resolving professional, technical and client service problems promptly and respectfully
- Administrative responsibilities associated with the management of an advisory practice
- Interacting effectively with co-workers and clients at all levels, to foster and maintain strong working relationships
- Travel, as required, up to 15%
Experience & Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have:
- A professional designation relevant to Sunera's service lines (i.e. CA, CIA, CISA, CISSP, etc. )
- An accounting/auditing background is preferred (i.e. strong technical accounting knowledge)
- Management/leadership experience in either public practice or industry (i.e. Internal Audit)
- Experience leading and mentoring teams (including training, performance evaluations, etc.)
- Business development / client relationship management experience is preferred
- Strong knowledge of Oil & Gas processes
- Strong understanding of regulatory compliance requirements relating to Sarbanes-Oxley (C-SOX) and NI 52-109
- Strong project management skills and ability to multi-task
- Superior technical skills with the ability to develop strong relationships with clients
- A reputation for attention to detail with a strong focus on providing high-quality deliverables that exceed client expectations
- Superior written and verbal communication skills
- A strong work ethic, professionalism and commitment to teamwork
- Ability to work either independently or manage a team of resources
